This component is essential for the internal cathodic protection of water heaters and boilers, which are generally made of metal (steel or stainless steel).

Function: The sacrificial anode (often made of magnesium or aluminum) protects the boiler's metal tank from galvanic corrosion—an electrochemical process that causes metals to rust. The anode is more reactive than the tank metal and corrodes in its place, hence the name "sacrificial."

Dimensions and Connections:

Thread Size: 1/2" (half an inch). This is the size of the threaded connection that screws the anode into the boiler body.

Length: 160 mm (millimeters). The length of the rod is important to ensure sufficient protection inside the tank.

Maintenance: Anodes wear out over time. They must be inspected regularly and replaced when significantly worn to maintain the warranty and extend the life of the boiler tank.

It is crucial to check the thread size (1/2”) and length (160 mm) to ensure perfect compatibility with your Gianneschi boiler model.
