Il componente essenziale per la tenuta dinamica di queste pompe è la tenuta meccanica, spesso indicata come TMD12Z (o equivalente) da Gianneschi.
Scopo: Crea una tenuta tra la parte rotante (l'albero) e la parte statica della pompa, impedendo perdite del fluido pompato e proteggendo i cuscinetti e il motore dall'acqua.
Dimensioni: Per questi modelli compatti e diffusi, la tenuta meccanica ha un diametro nominale di 12 mm (diametro dell'albero 12 mm), da cui la denominazione TMD12Z reperibile presso i rivenditori.
Materiali: Per resistere all'ambiente marino, le superfici di attrito sono generalmente realizzate in materiali duri come ceramica/carbonio o carburo di silicio, garantendo una lunga durata.
Kit di sostituzione: Un kit di riparazione per queste pompe include la tenuta meccanica e i vari O-ring necessari per le tenute statiche sul corpo pompa.
