This valve is a mandatory and essential safety device for any pressurized hot water tank.
Function: The safety valve protects the boiler from dangerous overpressure. If the internal pressure of the hot water tank exceeds a predetermined threshold (often around 7 or 8 bar in marine systems), the valve opens automatically to release excess pressure (water or steam) and prevent the tank from exploding.
Connection: The 1" (one inch) designation refers to the valve's connecting thread size, which must mate perfectly with the boiler connection.
Features:
- The valve body is usually made of corrosion-resistant brass or bronze.
- It is often designed with a spring calibrated to open at the maximum safe working pressure specified by the boiler manufacturer.
