The TMG10 mechanical seal is an essential replacement part for sealing certain rotary pumps manufactured by Gianneschi.
Function: Its role is to prevent fluid leaks along the pump's rotating shaft (axis). It replaces the traditional gland seal, providing a more reliable seal and less friction.
Compatibility: The TMG10 code refers to a specific seal model. The "10" generally indicates the nominal shaft diameter in millimeters (10 mm). These small-diameter seals are often used on Gianneschi circulating pumps, compact centrifugal pumps, or other small marine pumps.
Design: This is a dynamic seal consisting of a fixed and rotating part that engage each other, creating a watertight barrier.
Materials: To withstand the marine environment, the friction faces are generally made of hard materials such as ceramic/carbon or silicon carbide, while the secondary seals (elastomers) are made of NBR or Viton, depending on the fluid being pumped.
Maintenance: The mechanical seal is a wearing part. Any leakage at the pump shaft is a sign that it must be replaced to avoid damage to the motor and bearings.
