The critical sealing component for ACB 331 and ACB 332 pumps is the Mechanical Seal (specific reference often designated by the Gianneschi code RACB3301 or similar).
Purpose: It dynamically seals the pump shaft to prevent the pumped liquid from escaping and damaging the motor or bearings.
Technical Specifications:
Type: Single or double mechanical seal (depending on the version), designed for self-priming pumps.
Materials: Typically high-quality with Ceramic/Graphite Stainless Steel (or SiC) friction faces and durable elastomers for compatibility with seawater and diesel fuel.
Importance: ACB series pumps are known for their excellent self-priming capability. Maintaining the integrity of the mechanical seal is essential to ensure this performance, as any leakage at the shaft could affect the pump's priming capacity and overall efficiency.
The replacement kit for these models often includes the mechanical seal as well as the gaskets (O-rings and flat gaskets) required to completely seal the housings and end plates.
